We look forward to seeing all our friends, old and new on Thursday, August 31st@9am.
We hope you have all had a lovely summer break and are ready to get going with the new school year and all the fun and learning that we will be doing.

Mrs. Treacy and Mrs. Cleere will be joining us again for EAL support for the new term and Múinteoir Colm will also be back.
We have worked hard over the summer to develop our new website which as you can see is now available to keep you informed on everything to do with the school. We welcome your feedback and if you feel that we have missed anything or if you have any suggestions for additional items that would be useful, we would be delighted to hear from you so that we can make it as informative and user friendly as possible. We will be asking you over the coming weeks to let us know if for any reason you would prefer that your child’s image does not appear on our website. We will always do our utmost to ensure the safety of your children while in our care and online.
Reminders:
All children should have all of their lovely new belongings marked with their name.
The school will provide all books and copies this year.
Junior Infants will finish school daily at 12noon until September 8th.
Senior Infants will be in school until 1.40pm each day.
All other classes will finish daily at 2.40pm
The school bus does not run at 1.40pm but After School Club will be up and running from September 1st for Senior Infants only and then from September 11th for Juniors. If you wish to avail of this, please contact us before the return to school to book your place.
When collecting your child from school, please wait outside the gate and the teacher will bring them to you.
There are 2 school buses running daily from Portlaoise Town. You will be assigned a bus route in the coming days. We will notify you of the times and Bus Stop that apply to you.
Valid tickets must be produced to the driver in order to access the bus.
Please be patient with us while we get these routes established and remember that you must drop and collect your child to and from the Bus Stop. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your appointed time.
The routes are being operated by Slieve Bloom Coaches.
Any money being paid to the school must be placed in an envelope with name, amount and purpose clearly marked on the outside. If you need to discuss this, please contact us by September 8th.
If you have any questions before the return to school, you can contact us here through the website or by email to barnashronens@yahoo.ie
